First-year price, later price, early-termination fee, data cap, modem and installation: a checklist before you sign.
Internet tariffs look similar, but contract terms can differ greatly. A committed tariff is usually cheaper but reduces flexibility. Before subscribing, check these seven things.
1. First-year price versus later price
Many offers are valid only for the first 12 months. After the commitment ends the standard price applies. Kentağ Fiber tariff cards show both prices side by side; when comparing, calculate the 24-month total cost.
2. Commitment length and early-termination fee
If you terminate before the commitment ends, the discount difference for the remaining months and the device price may be charged. Ask how this amount is calculated in the contract. When you move and the new address has no infrastructure, no termination fee should be charged.
3. Data caps and throttling
Some tariffs reduce speed after a certain amount of data. Alongside the word unlimited, confirm whether there is any speed restriction.
4. Modem and equipment
Is the modem free, rented or for sale? Does it support Wi-Fi 6? Must the device be returned when the line ends?
5. Installation fee
Installation carries an extra charge with some operators. If internal wiring is needed, find out who bears the cost.
6. Infrastructure type
The same tariff name can deliver different speeds on different infrastructure. Find out whether your address has FTTH, FTTB or VDSL; our coverage check shows this within seconds.
7. Customer service and fault commitment
Is there a fee refund for outage time? At what hours is the call centre open? Is there a written service quality commitment?
Committed or uncommitted?
If you will stay at the same address for at least one to two years, a committed tariff is usually advantageous; the monthly difference can reach 15-25%. For those staying a short time or likely to move, the uncommitted option provides flexibility. For students and tenants our moving offers allow the commitment to be transferred to another address.
Before deciding you can download the contract summary and tariff information form and send your questions to our call centre.
A cost comparison example
Take the Fiber 250 tariff: the 12-month committed price is 549 TRY in year one and 749 TRY in year two, 15,576 TRY in total over 24 months. On an uncommitted option at 849 TRY a month you pay 20,376 TRY over 24 months. The difference is about 4,800 TRY, and the free installation and modem advantage favour commitment. But if you will move after eight months, the uncommitted option may be cheaper overall.
Rights to know
As a subscriber you have the right to receive the contract summary, tariff information form and total payment amount in writing before signing. A transparent operator announces price rises in advance and keeps the tariff price fixed for the commitment period.
